Thai Airways Flight Review

Thai Airways Flight Review

Andy and I flew Thai Airways on our honeymoon from Krabi, Thailand to Beijing, China. Since there wasn’t a flight directly from Krabi to Beijing, we had a short layover in Bangkok. I have to say that Suvarnabhumi Airport was hands down much nicer than Don Mueang International Airport which we had flown AirAsia from earlier on our travels.

Both of our flights on Thai Airways were top notch. The staff was great, exactly what we expected from the airline voted best airline staff in Asia. The legroom in economy seating was outstanding. I feel that we had more room than the economy plus seats of major US airlines. I loved the bright colors of the seats – from purple and pink to yellow.

Our first flight didn’t have personal televisions but our second, longer flight did have on-demand personal televisions. While there were good movies to watch, we decided we were going to try and sleep as much as we could during the red eye flight. We knew that once we landed in Beijing we had 12 hours of sightseeing and would need all the rest that we could get.

Final Thoughts

We could not be happier with our flights on Thai Airways. The legroom was phenomenal and the staff was amazing. Our only regret was that we booked them for a red eye flight. I wish that we were on a daytime flight and able to experience the amenities offered.

If you’re traveling to Asia, I highly recommend checking out Thai Airways, especially for a long haul flight. The only negative that it has going for it is is the price, especially with all of the low cost airlines available in Southeast Asia. If you have miles through United, consider booking a Thai Airways flight using your miles. The legroom and service are well above other carriers that you could fly.
