We spent 3 days in Quito, Ecuador and were able to see quite a bit. On our first day we took public transit north of the city to Mitad del Mundo (middle of the world) and saw the original equator line where they built a monument and the actual equator line, which was calculated using GPS. We had a great time taking pictures at both sites. On our second day we had to run some errands and didn’t do much sight seeing, but our third day was another busy day. We wandered around the Old City of Quito and climbed to the top of the Basilica del Voto Nacional for some great views of the city. During that same day we took a trip to the top of El Panecillo and viewed the city from another high point by the Virgen del Panecillo.
