On our way from Seattle to Portland we decided to take the scenic route and drive along the coast to Astoria and Cannon Beach. While doing some research we found out that Astoria, Oregon is where they filmed the movie The Goonies and the final scene of the movie was filmed at Cannon Beach.

After our quick stop along the coast we continued on to Portland where we spent a couple nights in the downtown area. We didn’t just hang out in downtown Portland though. We took a quick trip out to see some of the waterfalls and scenic views along the Columbia River Gorge. The morning before we left made sure to make a stop at a popular Portland doughnut shop called Voodoo Doughnuts.
