Our visit to Louisville and the Maker’s Mark Distillery were part of our road trip to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. On our first day we stopped in Louisville where we were able to do some sight seeing in the downtown area. In just that one day we were able to visit Churchill Down & The Kentucky Derby Museum as well as the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory. After leaving Louisville, we headed south towards the Smoky Mountains, but scheduled a stop in Loretto, Kentucky to take a tour of the Maker’s Mark Distillery. We learned all about the bourbon making process and Lynn got to dip her own bottle of Maker’s Mark in wax before we continued on our travels.
