After a 4 hour bus ride, including a ferry crossing Lake Titicaca, we finally arrived in La Paz, Bolivia. We were pleasantly surprised with how modern and clean the city was, which was the opposite of what we expected after reading and being told by friends that we would only want or need to spend a day at most in La Paz. We ended up having to extend our stay an extra night in order to line up with our jeep tour through Sajama National Park and the salt flats, but we were completely fine with that since we enjoyed the city. We also really enjoyed our hotel which made staying an extra night even easier.
During our time in La Paz we were able to do quite a bit. We got around via the cable cars that transport people high above the city streets. We also made our way out to the valley of the moon, visited the old quarter and government square, stumbled upon a Hooters like restaurant, and spent some time untagging all of our clothes that we got back from a local laundry service. All of these you can find below from our time in La Paz, Bolivia.
