From the first day we decided to travel around South America, Machu Picchu was always a top destination on my list of places to visit. I knew that if we were going to South America, we had to make it to Machu Picchu. We had so many issues with the cost of getting there and for some reason the actual reserving of tickets to Machu Picchu, but we still made it. On the day we hiked up it was raining a little and the mountains around us were covered with fog. I just assumed that we were not going to get the great pictures of Machu Picchu that I had dreamed of, but when we entered the park and climbed up a few sets of stairs we had an almost perfectly clear view of the ruins. In the following couple hours most of the fog had cleared and the sun lit up all of Machu Picchu. I’ve seen pictures from friends where there is very little visibility, so I was happy that we got the weather that we did.
